What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device — computer, smartphone, or tablet — by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the website owner about how their site is being used.

In addition to traditional cookies, we and our partners may use other tracking technologies such as web beacons (also called pixels or tracking pixels), local storage objects, session storage, device fingerprinting signals, and web signals sent from your browser or our servers. This Cookie Policy covers all of these technologies collectively, and references to "cookies" in this Policy include these related technologies unless stated otherwise.

Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • To make the Amedeo.ai website function correctly — including keeping you logged in, remembering your session, and enabling secure form submissions
  • To remember your preferences and settings between visits
  • To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
  • To measure the effectiveness of our marketing and outreach campaigns
  • To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized access
  • To comply with legal obligations, including cookie consent requirements under GDPR and similar laws

Types of Cookies We Use

We categorize the cookies we use as follows:

Required

Strictly Necessary Cookies Required

These cookies are essential for the Amedeo.ai website to function. They enable core functionality such as page navigation, secure user authentication, session management, and form submission security (CSRF protection). Without these cookies, features you have requested cannot be provided. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies.

Optional

Functional and Preference Cookies Optional

These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make — such as your language preference, whether you have dismissed notifications, or details you have entered in forms — to provide a more personalized experience. Disabling these cookies may cause some features to work less smoothly.

Consent Required (EU/UK/INDIA)

Analytics and Performance Cookies Consent Required (EU/UK/India)

We currently deploy Google Analytics (cookies: _ga, _gid, _gat) and Hotjar (cookie: _hjid, _hjSessionUser) to understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools collect information such as the number of visitors, pages visited, time on page, bounce rate, and navigation paths. The data collected is aggregated and pseudonymized; it does not directly identify you. Google Analytics data may be processed on servers in the United States. For EU/EEA/UK users, we deploy these cookies only with your consent via our consent banner.

Consent Required

Marketing and Retargeting Cookies Consent Required

We may deploy the LinkedIn Insight Tag to track conversions from LinkedIn campaigns, build audience segments for retargeting, and measure campaign effectiveness. We may also deploy the Meta Pixel (Facebook) for similar purposes on Meta platforms. These cookies may set a unique identifier on your device to link your website visits to your social media profile. These cookies are deployed only with your explicit consent via our cookie consent banner. If you have not consented, these tags are not activated.

Third-Party Cookies and Technologies

Some cookies on the Amedeo.ai website are set by third parties, companies other than BuildUX Inc., when you load or interact with certain features of our site. We do not control these third-party cookies and their use is governed by the respective third party's privacy policy. The third parties whose cookies or tracking technologies may be present on our site include:

  • Google LLC : Google Analytics and potentially Google Ads Conversion Tracking. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Hotjar Ltd. : Session recording and heatmap analytics. Privacy policy: hotjar.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • LinkedIn Corporation : LinkedIn Insight Tag for conversion tracking and retargeting. Privacy policy: linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. : Meta Pixel for conversion tracking (if enabled). Privacy policy: facebook.com/policy.php
  • Calendly, LLC : If you interact with our embedded demo booking widget, Calendly may set cookies on our site. Privacy policy: calendly.com/privacy

We periodically review our third-party cookie deployments and will update this Policy when new third-party technologies are added. We ensure that any third-party receiving personal data via cookies has agreed to appropriate data processing terms.

Web Signals and Server-Side Tracking

In addition to browser-based cookies, we may use server-side tracking mechanisms and web signals to collect analytics data. Web signals include HTTP referrer headers, server access logs, IP-based geolocation inference, and conversion events transmitted from our servers to analytics providers.

Server-side signals are not stored in your browser and cannot be deleted through browser cookie settings. However, they are subject to the same data minimization and retention obligations described in this Policy and our Privacy Policy. Where server-side signals are used in combination with cookie identifiers, the combination is treated as personal data and is subject to consent requirements where applicable.

We do not use server-side tracking to build individual behavioral profiles that are sold to or shared with third-party advertisers. Server-side analytics data is used solely for aggregate website performance analysis and fraud prevention.

Your Consent and Cookie Choices

We obtain your consent for non-essential cookies before placing them on your device. Our approach to consent differs by jurisdiction:

EU/EEA and UK Users

Upon first visiting Amedeo.ai, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. Only strictly necessary cookies will be active before you make a choice. You may accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category. Your consent choice is recorded and honored for 12 months, after which you will be asked to renew your preference. You may change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer.

Indian Users (DPDP Act)

For users in India, we obtain consent for cookies that involve the collection of personal data, consistent with the requirements of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You may withdraw consent at any time via our cookie settings panel.

US Users (California and Other States)

We honor opt-out signals consistent with the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws. California residents may exercise their right to opt out of the "sharing" of personal data via cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising by clicking the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our website footer, where applicable, or by using a browser that broadcasts a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — which we treat as a valid opt-out request.

Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

All major browsers allow you to manage cookies through the browser settings menu. Below are links to cookie management instructions for commonly used browsers:

  • Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
  • Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
  • Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/manage-cookies-in-microsoft-edge

Please note that disabling all cookies may prevent you from logging into your Amedeo.ai account or using certain features of the Services. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without preventing the core functionality of the site from operating.

Opt-Out Tools for Specific Technologies

  • Google Analytics Opt-Out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (browser add-on)
  • Hotjar Opt-Out: hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track/
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag Opt-Out: linkedin.com/psettings/enhanced-advertising (requires LinkedIn sign-in)
  • Meta / Facebook Opt-Out: facebook.com/settings?tab=ads (requires Facebook sign-in) or youronlinechoices.eu
  • Industry-Wide Opt-Out (US): optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org
  • Industry-Wide Opt-Out (EU): youronlinechoices.eu

Do Not Track Signals and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites must respond to DNT signals, our website does not respond to browser DNT signals at this time.

However, we do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which is a standardized opt-out signal supported by certain browsers and browser extensions. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal data via cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

Cookie Retention Periods

Cookies we deploy fall into two categories by duration:

  • Session Cookies: These cookies exist only for the duration of your browser session and are deleted automatically when you close your browser. We use session cookies for authentication and form security (CSRF tokens).
  • Persistent Cookies: These cookies remain on your device for a set period after you close your browser, or until you manually delete them. Retention periods vary by cookie purpose — analytics cookies set by Google Analytics persist for up to 13 months; Hotjar cookies persist for up to 365 days; marketing cookies vary by the third-party provider.

Cookie data linked to your account may also be retained as part of our general data retention schedule described in our Privacy Policy. On expiry of a cookie's retention period, the cookie is automatically deleted from your device by your browser. You may delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, regulatory requirements, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Policy and, where required by law, re-request your consent via our cookie consent banner.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Prior versions are available upon request at privacy@buildux.com.
